The Civil Air Search and Rescue Association is a Canada wide Volunteer Aviation Association dedicated to the promotion of Aviation Safety, as well as to provide Trained Air Search Services to the National Search and Rescue Program. We also provide the same Trained Air Search Services the Provincial Government, via the Ministry of the Attorney General and P.E.P. (Provincial Emergency Program - Air). Tasking is dispatched from the ECC - Emergency Coordination Centre. Taskings for missing aircraft are from the JRCC - Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Esquimalt, BC.

CASARA SWBC, Civil Air Search and Rescue South Western British Columbia Zone, is a civilian, volunteer, Non-Profit Association dedicated to the development and maintenance of a capability within our zone for private light aircraft and crew to assist in searching for crews and passengers of lost aircraft, as well al lost boats, vehicles and individuals who may require such assistance.

CASARA SWBC Zone is usually tasked to provide coverage from Point Roberts to Hope, to Boston Bar, to Pemberton. This is not an area that has solid boundaries, as our tasking my include searches into the Northwestern USA, the Sunshine Coast and many of the Gulf Islands.
